Localization is the process of creating or adapting a product to a specific locale (i.e. region, country, community) with respect to its language, cultural conventions, market requirements, and technological standards, in order to effectively target a particular audience. Localization can be done with Web-ready files to be placed on the Internet, or with software interface, such as interactive CD-ROMs. In addition to the translation of text, other types of data, images, and sounds may require localization to make them more culturally relevant or to take cultural sensitivities into consideration. We also verify and adjust many other less obvious details, such as formatting of dates, references to currency, local symbolism of icons, or colors, etc. Our vast experience with languages worldwide allows us to generate quality translations, but the expertise and cultural training of our staff guarantee that we can help our clients communicate with the target audience beyond mere words. |
